Auto Repair invoice FAQ
What should an auto repair invoice include?
Your shop name, the customer and vehicle (year/make/model/VIN or plate), parts, labor hours and rate, shop supplies, tax, total, and any warranty. Reference the RO or estimate number.
Should parts and labor be listed separately?
Yes — customers (and warranties) expect parts itemized separately from labor hours. This template splits them, plus a shop-supplies line.
Do mechanics charge tax on labor?
It varies by state — some tax parts only, some both. Set the correct rate in the generator; it applies to the subtotal automatically.
